The Opportunity

DAT is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Cloud Platform Engineering team in Beaverton, Oregon; Denver, Colorado;  or remotely.

Candidate profile

The Cloud Platform Engineering team is responsible for the development and maintenance of our critical cloud infrastructure, including:

  • AWS Landing Zone with AWS Control Tower and modern network constructs
  • Serverless and Kubernetes-based managed compute platforms
  • Self-service AWS Service Catalog product offerings
  • FinOps and security automation

About the Role

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving the evolution of our technology infrastructure. You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing advanced cloud solutions using your deep technical expertise and strong collaboration skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement innovative and secure AWS cloud solutions leveraging automation and self-service capabilities.
  • Lead the development and refinement of our Serverless and Kubernetes-based managed compute platforms.
  • Champion FinOps best practices and implement effective cost management strategies.
  • Collaborate with Security and GRC teams to design and implement industry-leading security automation.
  • Document solutions, architectural patterns, and best practices for AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Partner with the software engineering organization to build a robust Service Catalog portfolio of infrastructure patterns.

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related IT field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience maintaining production environments on AWS at peak performance.
  • 3+ years of experience managing production Kubernetes infrastructure, ideally with cloud solutions like EKS.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines (experience with GitHub/GitHub Actions and ArgoCD preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of a broad range of AWS services (EKS, S3, Lambda, EC2, Route 53, VPC & networking).
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate design and implementation choices.
  • Experience with open-source technologies and tools relevant to cloud infrastructure.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
  • Solid knowledge of information security principles and practices, including security protocols and standards.
  • Strong team player, able to communicate and work equally well with your peers as well as non-technical personnel.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $160,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
