Senior Network Engineer - Hybrid

Curtiss-Wright, Defense Electronics, a global leader in defense technologies, is seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer. This position involves working hands-on to develop and enhance PacStar’s integrated solutions product offerings. Work with a tight-knit, cross-functional engineering team in PacStar’s Portland office to develop solutions to enable compute and communications functions in tactical/man-portable form factors that were previously only possible in the datacenter. Our products are used by military, emergency responders, and forward-looking commercial enterprises worldwide.

What it takes: You are adept in troubleshooting difficult hardware and software issues. You approach difficult problems with a solution-oriented mindset and a track record of success. You have advanced experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining TCP/IP networks and devices. You have advanced experience in routing, switching, security, and Wi-Fi from various vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, Ruckus, etc. You have advanced experience in operating systems such as Windows, Windows Server, VMware ESXi & Linux. You have experience with Network and Systems security using 802.1x, Public Key Infrastructure/Certificates, Certificate Authorities, etc.

Your Challenge:

  • Will perform high-level systems analysis, evaluation, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex networking and systems solutions that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills
  • Perform a variety of advanced networking configurations and technologies
  • Develop and implement VPN integrations related to the operation, performance, or availability of data communications networks
  • Integration, test and troubleshooting of hardware, software and networking for PacStar products
  • Develop and implement procedures for configuration and testing of systems
  • Produce and support integrated systems for Marketing, Sales, and End Customers
  • Ability to write and create documents and procedures for internal and external users
  • Responsible for quality levels maintained in PacStar products
  • Performance requires physical attendance as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • US Citizenship Required
  • 8+ years in network or systems engineering in a production environment
  • Ability to present complex technology to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Expert level experience with IP networking and networking devices (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, etc.)
  • Cisco CCNP, Aruba ACMP, Juniper JNCIP or equivalent required
  • Extensive experience integrating secure communications between multiple network equipment vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Riverbed, Aruba, Ruckus, etc.) required
  • Experience with PKI (certificates, certificate authorities, and revocation checking) strongly desired
  • Experience with PC hardware and troubleshooting
  • Experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi) strongly desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows strongly desired
  • Experience with Linux strongly desired
  • Experience with network management applications such as SolarWinds, SNMPc, Nagios, etc. is a plus
  • Experience with CSfC solutions is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent professional that can perform job assignment with limited supervision
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds of test equipment at least 40 feet
  • Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and quality orientation a must
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time
