About the Job:

The Partner Development Associate develops relationships with new partners and expands relationships with existing partners. In developing new partners, the Partner Development Associate will be asked to research potential partners and identify approaches to start discussions. Additionally, the  Partner Development Associate will be given a group of existing partners with the goal of increasing business activity.

The Partner Development Associate reports to the Senior Manager of Partnerships.

  • Identifies new partners for OpenSesame with direction from executive leadership at OpenSesame.
  • Handles initial discussions with new partners, including providing an overview of OpenSesame and the value of partnering with the company.
  • Negotiate partnership structures with guidance and direction from the Partner and Legal teams.
  • Will develop and thereafter maintain a Partner program “gold deck” used for new partnership discussions within 60 days of hire.
  • Will refine the process, in coordination with the Partner Team, of preparing a new partner for management by the Partner Management team. The Partner Development Associate will define this process and standards within 60 days of hire.
  • Develop a partner development “playbook” to activate and grow existing partners within 90 days of hire.
  • Will work with assigned existing partners to execute the partner development playbook
  • The Partner Development Associate will have a specific goal for new partner development and first year bookings associated with each new partner.
  • The Partner Development Associate will be assigned a group of existing partners to develop beyond their current level of activity. The PDA will be assigned a specific goal related to the number of partners and expected business activity.
  • Sells through partner organizations to end users in coordination with partner sales resources.
  • Regularly reports on performance of assigned goals.

Performance Based Objectives:

  • In your first 30 days, you will complete OpenSesame partner onboarding, learn how OpenSesame goes to market, and understand the OpenSesame partner models and programs
  • In your first 30 days, you will refine a “Partner Gold Deck”, in collaboration with team members, to be used for initial partner discussions and will have presented OpenSesame to at least one prospective partner
  • At the end of 60 days, you will have conducted a review of the existing partner portfolio and identified target partners from the existing portfolio for growth and identified specific lead and bookings goals for each. You will have documented partner development plan and presented it to the Partner Team
  • At the end of 60 days, you will take the lead role in all new partners discussions and you will have developed a process for placing new partners in relevant programs and levels and handing off management to appropriate Partner Team members.
  • At the end of 60 days, you will have created a partner portfolio dashboard tracking the progress of your partners to goal
  • Within your first 90-120 days, you will be meeting the goals set forth in your partner development plan, working on developing and honing your partner development skills as well as training internally to become OpenSesame Qualified
  • Within your first 90-120 days, you will have developed a solid understanding of partner recruitment and partner development and will present a report to the partner team on what is working well, key challenges and recommended adjustments to your business plan going forward.

This position may require 10-15 days of travel for company events.
