Principal Software Dev Engineer

Our team at Cambia is bringing together the best practices of software engineering, infrastructure as code and embedded quality into one digital platform with true business value. Our cloud-native platform is built with a microservice and serverless-based event-driven architecture and efficient CI/CD pipelines. Our teams use a wide variety of AWS services and modern development languages like Golang and Node.

In this role, you will provide  technical wizardry for an organization that is responsible for reliable operations, high level information security and a culture of excellence in engineering across Cambia.  We are looking for a technology leader with a passion for solving problems in healthcare and eager to play an active role in the digital transformation journey of Cambia.

Responsibilities:

• Passionate for delivering software solutions that make health care easier and Members lives better.
• Leads the definition of the software engineering best practices and lifecycle that results in high-quality, secure, scalable, and efficient software.
• Defines the developer experience for application development across cloud and on-premise environments
• Continuously seeks to improve job skills of all Cambia software development engineers and is a leader in the company's learning environment.
• Consults with Engineering and Business partners’ technical needs and ably guides them towards solutions with scalable architecture.
• Provides overall technical leadership across entire organization consistent with the best industry practices.
• Proactively seeks out and resolves Cambia’s toughest technical challenges.
• Leads through action in requirement analysis, system analysis, system design, data models, program design, source code development, test case development, testing automation, and documentation.
• Mentors and educates others to help build stronger team practices and stronger engineering skills within those teams.
• Defines, challenges, and refines Cambia's broader organizational processes to innovate new capabilities and increase efficiency and productivity.

Minimum Requirements:  

• Strong fundamentals with microservices and serverless architecture
• Strong skills in AWS native services, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes and Datadog
• Demonstrated experience with analyzing and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work across project teams to leverage existing knowledge, technologies, and solutions
• Strong cross-functional communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coach engineers with system level issues
• Motivated to continuously learn and adopt new skills and technologies. Actively participate in the company's learning and share-the-learning initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field, and at least 12 years of relevant experience in a multi-platform environment as a leader
• Five or more years working in the healthcare industry
• Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) processes
• Polyglot experience with languages such as Python, NodeJS, Golang and Java
