As a key security resource for eBay, you would tackle challenging situations in a very unique environment. Job Responsibilities:

• Design and implement reusable software and tools for client and back-end systems
• Participate in operational review of technical systems across the company
• Evaluate partner and third-party systems for adequate design and protections
• Be able to simply convey sophisticated data security concepts to partners, other specialists, and company leaders, while evangelizing accurate usage
• Help application developers accurately use database encryption techniques and technology
• Work with peers and leaders around the company to set, and then implement the vision for security applications.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
• Experience in Data Security, Application Security and SPLC, SAST/DAST
• Excellent understanding of Operating Systems security concepts and kernel components.
• Knowledge and experience in cloud computing and how services operate
• Strong Software Development skills and ability to code in one or more of: Java, Python, Kotlin/Swift, Go
• Become a motivated product and industry influence by maintaining deep technical and business knowledge of various market segments and of best-of-breed security strategies
• Working across eBay with fellow Architects, Senior Staff, Principal Engineers, product management, and other partners to define the technical roadmap for the product(s) in response to customer requirements and market forces.
• Familiar with of secure architecture design and principles.
• Prefer Security experience in Linux internals and kernel, security knowledge of modern kernels (i.e., Linux, BSD, Solaris, AIX, or HP/UX) in kernel/C development, debugging, problem and performance analysis, any security certifications.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.

$135,200 - $205,700
