AWS Elemental

Senior Software Development Engineer, Global Accelerator

Job description

People are more reliant than ever on home internet being fast and stable for both work and play. Our Service, AWS Global Accelerator, is built to help accomplish just that. We are providing AWS builders the ability to accelerate their TCP and UDP based workloads by making the dedicated AWS global network available to all. We do this through our geographically distributed edge network and the announcement of AnyCast IPs. Our customers range from UDP heavy workloads (i.e. telco and gaming) to highly responsive TCP/HTTP workloads (i.e. bidding and trading platforms).

We are looking for engineers to join our Portland and Seattle based team as we continue to expand both the internal and external adoption of our software defined networking service. As a member of the Global Accelerator service team, you will be responsible for building and designing new feature components for our control plane along with providing leadership and mentorship to peer engineers. You will be designing and implementing features that touch the public facing APIs, the public facing console, back-end systems that propagate global configuration data, service components which process Async events and workflows, and integrations with AWS service teams which simplify on-boarding for customers.

You will be successful in this role if you have a strong will to learn and have prior experience designing and developing highly available and resilient distributed systems and services in any technology stack. You will be joining a collaborative team that is always learning and challenging each other to design and develop problems that simplify how customers can create highly available applications for their specific use case. There is no pre-disposition required for networking, languages and tooling; but for context, our service is built on AWS and uses languages and tools such as Kotlin, Java, Go, Python, Step Functions, Fargate, EC2, Lambda, along with a myriad of powerful internal tools facilitating continuing integration and standardized code deployment.

For for information about Global Accelerator, you can head to our service page, We look forward to hearing from you!
