Our client, HydraPower Systems, is a $60M company on a trajectory to reach $100M in the next seven years. Growth and technological change have created an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to fill a critical role at our organization. In this role, you will have autonomy and authority to maintain the smooth running of our network and computer systems. You will work with end users from the Executive level through the Individual Contributor level to ensure the smooth running of our IT infrastructure. You will enjoy troubleshooting and resolving complex and multi-faceted technological issues independently.
As we execute on the roadmap of IT across the entire organization, multiple projects will require your attention. An early look at some of them includes the build-out of our Cloud-based infrastructure in an Azure environment, and implementing the necessary technologies to support that environment. As we move forward in these pandemic times, you will build the infrastructure that will support a hybrid work model, and participate in it in a 3/2 onsite/offsite model. We will also look for your capable help in re-developing our IT ticketing system.
Daily operations that you will be responsible for include network and firewall management (wired and wireless), Exchange and SQL servers and databases, Microsoft Azure environment and tools, and SharePoint. We are standing up a Dynamix 365 ERP, so skills set in that and/or AX2012 would help us out. The office staff runs Office 365 on PCs, and you will need to be able to support that environment, as well.
This role will have one direct report, and you will have the opportunity to train and develop that person as well as power users in other departments to enable the entire organization to grow in their ability to independently maintain their own technology needs.
To succeed in this role, you will be a proven professional with at least 5 years of demonstrably relevant experience and a detailed knowledge of best practices in the responsibilities described above. We would prefer a BS degree in Computer Science, but we also know that experience is a fine teacher. You will be persistent, reliable, and show us strong follow-through and delivery behaviors. You’ll be very good at listening to people, discerning and diagnosing the issue and will interact effectively and engagingly with all levels of staff. If there are specific areas or systems with which you aren’t yet experienced, we will provide training; we believe in developing the capacity of every employee to excel in their work, so if you are eager to learn on the job and quickly pick up new skills, this would be the role for you.
Is this you?
If you think it is, let’s talk.
