Software Project Manager

Job description

You'll be an integral part of our global team of dedicated full-time employees, comprised of technical architects, project managers, design specialists, developers, and QA engineers. Our clients range from large enterprises to startups, which allows us to regularly learn and leverage new technologies across a wide range of platforms. We develop applications in Java, .NET, Swift, and a variety of other languages using an agile, adaptive process. We leverage open source tools and libraries extensively.

Position Details

Formos Software Project Managers (PMs) are primarily responsible for ensuring that the software we develop meets the requirements of the customer and is delivered on time and on budget. They must be great communicators and pay strict attention to detail. Our PMs interact directly with our clients, helping to define and clarify requirements, manage client expectations, and ultimately deliver the software solution. They will be responsible for leading diverse teams of technical project leads, designers, developers, and quality assurance engineers in the US, Vietnam, and Ecuador. They will work with the CTO, sales engineers, and other technical leadership to create specifications and proposals, manage requirements, and validate software quality. They will also develop wireframes and deliver demos and training.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in technical project management
  • Comfortable working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Great communicator and good at thinking on your feet
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, thorough and patient
  • Ability to think through problems and make suggestions for solutions
  • A flexible and quick learner, willing to tackle new challenges

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in understanding and documenting their requirements
  • Work with sales engineers to generate proposals
  • Create wireframe mock-ups of screens and process workflow
  • Coordinate with developers, designers, and other project resources
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, video conferences and phone calls
  • Collaborate with the technical project leads and development teams via daily video conference
  • Be responsive to questions and requests both internally and from clients
  • Manage client expectations for timelines and budget, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Ensure all client requirements are met and the work is high quality
  • Perform demos for clients and Formos management
  • Occasionally train clients on their software
  • Provide office hours technical support to clients via phone, email, and video conference
  • Make suggestions for process improvements
