About the Team
Workday is using the latest software development and cloud technologies to build platforms and application services to support our growth while also ensuring the protection of Workday data and infrastructure is paramount. The Workday Security Assurance Team is responsible for the delivery of technical solutions, standards, and consulting to protect Workday's application services, infrastructure, and data. We empower Workday’s Product and Technology teams to rapidly deploy secure software!
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support and grow the Security Architecture & Engagement program. The role will support security engagement processes (reviews, standards, and frameworks) with the goal of reducing the number of security fixes late in the development cycle while also providing increased efficiency for development teams. You will be driving the adoption of these security frameworks and techniques across the Workday development organizations. You will have the flexibility of a hybrid schedule. Some key responsibilities of this role include:
- Promote and implement security processes and tools that support ongoing deliveries and promote a "shift left" Security mentality;
- Support and build a growing Security Champions program;
- Collaborate multi-functionally with Workday development, operations, and product teams to understand their requirements and priorities while influencing security culture;
- Educate and support Workday to understand the changing application security threat landscape;
- Stay ahead of industry technology and business trends. Actively drive product technology and engineering process innovation to help Workday be a leader in Security.
About You
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in one or the combination of the following: technical security consultancy or security engineering, or security program management
- Experience with Information Security concepts, tools and standards, including vulnerabilities in application software
- Knowledge of enterprise applications, SDLC
Other Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills -- building positive relationships with partners internal and external to the Security organization;
- Knowledge of pipeline automation in CI/CD system e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo, Teamcity;
- Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, VMWare;
- Knowledge of deploying applications using containers and/or Kubernetes
