What we are looking for

We are seeking a Sr. Director of FP&A, who will help lead a world-class, modern, global financial planning & analysis department. This position is responsible for supporting the financial planning & analysis function while serving as a liaison between Finance and business units across the company. The ideal candidate will drive timely and accurate financial plans, forecasts, and reporting as well as provide financial expertise, identify risks and opportunities, and translate insights into action plans and see plans through to execution. This person will be focused on consolidation, reporting and forecasting all operating expenses.

What you'll do

  • Build trusted partnerships with senior leaders across the organization
  • Partner with the VP of FP&A, executive team, and business leaders to support the company's budgeting, strategic planning and forecasting processes
  • Lead monthly estimate and partner with accounting on the close processes
  • Work closely with department leads to update budgets and cash flows. Strong project management and organizational skills including the ability to coordinate FP&A activities across multiple regions, and functions
  • Liaise directly with senior management in the creation of ad-hoc financial analyses and business models for critical initiatives
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, training, and development of direct and indirect reports
  • Ensure consistent monthly, quarterly and annual communication of forecasts, results, variances, and action plans to all stakeholders
  • Own all reporting including intra-month pacing and month-end reporting to be distributed to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the continued development, execution and automation of standardized reporting
  • Support key decisions (e.g. prioritize new growth opportunities, magnitude, and timing of infrastructure investment) by leading the team to produce financial models for recommendations to senior management
  • Bring new thinking and ways of doing things to the function, as appropriate, including analyzing and pushing new metrics and performance indicators to help identify trends
  • Continually improve processes and ensure consistencies, drive change as necessary, and elevate the level of reporting for the overall company, subsidiaries, and individual departments

Skills you’ll need

  • 5-7+ years of FP&A experience around fast growth companies, public company experience preferred
  • Demonstrated previous leadership experience, including leading high performing teams with diverse levels of expertise, and creating buy-in for company initiatives
  • Eagerness to be doing hands on work while also providing high level leadership and strategy
  • Strong financial and analytical skills and the ability to explain financial concepts in lay terms to executives
  • Ability to communicate and present clearly and succinctly to multiple levels within the organization
  • Experience providing decision support for a range of projects, investments and strategic initiatives
  • Deal effectively with ambiguities and be able to manage multiple projects through completion, often under tight deadlines, with frequently changing priorities and minimal supervision
  • Hold the highest standards for accuracy and ethics for yourself and your team but also recognize how to balance accuracy and urgency
  • Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to draw, translate and communicate critical insights into analysis
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to work from home and resides in one of the following states: AK, AL, AZ, CA, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MT, NH, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, VT, WA, IL, NC, WY, or WI
