About the Sr. Product Designer - Design Systems Role:

We are looking for a passionate Product Designer to lead and grow our design system for the Product Design team and across the organization. You will be expected to craft complex, shared UI patterns, and are at the intersection of systems design and product design. This role will play a key role in our team's evolution and will serve as a key player in transforming our products and shaping our design team.

You will be joining a global team of seasoned and growing product designers, leading our Capital Design System. We are committed to a workplace that reflects the governments and communities we serve. Key Responsibilities:

•Design UX & UI components, frameworks, patterns, and flows that can be leveraged & scaled for use throughout our SaaS products

•Work with peers in design to help build and maintain our design library, and continuously publish updates to other designers & engineers within our organization

•Continuous audit of our existing design system and component library, addressing design debt and making recommendations for consolidation and/or enhancement where there may be inconsistencies

•Provide foundational guidance to our design, product & engineering teams, helping to determine when it is appropriate to use an existing pattern vs. design a new one, and provide insight/guidance on what existing patterns to use

•Become an expert in UI design and accessibility guidelines, and ensure our library follows best practices

•Have a deep understanding of how the technical back-end and front-end fit together across channels

Education and Experience:

•4+ years of experience working with design system design

•You have skills in prototyping, wireframing, storyboards, crafting user flows, & interaction design, as well as a solid understanding of UX design best practices

•You have used a variety of communication skills, from storyboarding to prototyping, and/or coding skills to articulate how the design components you create can work to other designers, engineers, and product partners

•A master of common design software tools, e.g. Figma (preferred), Sketch, InVision

•Strong communication skills and an ability to clearly present complex ideas to stakeholders

Bonus:

•Experience in designing for and scaling accessibility across an organization

•A master of HTML and CSS, highly skilled with JavaScript and popular front end frameworks

•Experience in government or finance domains

A portfolio is required
