Team:

eBay’s Cloud Distributive Systems engineering team is responsible for the design and implementation of scalable distributed systems. As a part of this team, the ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver the platform and contribute to upstream open source projects. We are on a mission to build a software defined infrastructure that builds, manages, scales and heals with our business growth. There are many challenges that engage us on a daily basis to evolve our cloud platform and you will play an integral role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and advance the capabilities of our highly reliable and available cloud services - Compute, Network and Storage
  • Own the services from its creation to decomm with development, test, deploy, monitor and scale
  • Conceive new ideas to problems and take them to market through rapid prototyping, validation, iterative development and continuous test and deployment
  • Challenge yourself, enrich in an environment of like-minded engineers and most importantly, have fun!

Requirements:

  • M.S/PhD in Computer Science related subjects with minimum of 8+ years of work experience
  • Solid foundations in computer science - data structures, logical thinking, algorithms, space-time complexities, operating Systems, databases etc.
  • Proficient in one of the programming languages - Go, Java, C or C++
  • Expertise in Kubernetes internals and framework
  • Good knowledge of Linux operating system
  • Experience in solving problems in the areas of distributed systems at scale
  • Knowledge in Container networking, Software load balancing, DNS

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.

$149,200 - $234,80

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
