The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Data Scientist I to join our  Data Science team.  This position can be based in our Denver, CO office; Beaverton, OR office; or remotely.

The Data Science team at DAT Solutions builds machine learning and analytical tools to integrate into DAT products across all the companies product lines. We work closely with our engineering, product management, and software engineering colleagues on a wide variety of projects, including forecasting, recommendation systems, search, anomaly detection, and historical benchmarking.

The research done by the Data Science (DS) team leads directly to new products, enhancements to existing products, and new internal tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Helping the organization extract value from our data by undertaking research projects, prototyping machine learning models, statistical models, and other proof-of-concept projects.
  • Working closely with ML Engineers on the Data Science team to turn successful prototypes into new products.
  • Evaluation of existing ML and statistical products to ensure continued high quality results and outputs, and to recommend improvements and new research where appropriate.
  • Working with our partner teams to aid in determining what data to capture and at what level of granularity to capture the data.
  • Communicate findings with our product and engineering counterparts

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • Practical experience writing code for data science projects (Python preferred)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistics, and related tools and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $80,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
