Head of Sales, Americas

Job description

We are seeking an exceptional and strategic sales leader to join our team as Head of Sales, AMER at Customer.io, overseeing the North American, Central American, and South American markets. As the Head of Sales, AMER, you will be responsible for managing and building a high-performing sales team in the AMER sales region (including existing US based team). Your primary objective will be to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base in these key markets. The Head of Sales, AMER will report to the Global VP of Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Alongside the VP of Sales & Sales Leadership team, this person will help to craft and execute the overall sales strategy for the AMER region for Customer.io’s offerings, from initial lead through the entire customer lifecycle to maximize new business ARR and expansion.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of account executives and front-line managers, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their individual and team targets.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the North America, Central America, and South American markets, aligning it with regional best-practices and the company's overall sales objectives.
  • Drive your team to master the sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring a consistent and efficient sales process that offers our prospects an exceptional experience.
  • Foster strong internal relationships with key stakeholders, including Channel Sales, Marketing, Sales Development and C-level executives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and strategies for growth.
  • Leverage the product-led growth and self-service model to complement the sales-led side of the business, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach.
  • Analyze sales performance data and provide regular reports to executive management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuously assess and improve sales processes, tools, and systems to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Create and nurture a feedback loop with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing.
  • Effectively deliver feedback, support, and enablement (while leveraging team resources) and performance management responsibilities across your team to maintain a team of top-performers.
  • Recruit, onboard and coach new team members as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities and partnerships to expand Customer.io's reach and market presence.
  • Drive a culture of customer success within the sales team, ensuring a customer-centric approach and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Provide sales leadership and support for large, strategic deals, working closely with the account executives to develop and execute winning sales strategies including on-site travel where applicable.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry influencers, partners, and thought leaders to enhance Customer.io's brand reputation and generate referrals.
  • Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements to showcase Customer.io's expertise and thought leadership, on an as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with the product team to provide customer feedback and insights for product enhancements and new feature development.

Requirements

  • You are located in the US.
  • High-growth B2B software sales leadership executive with Director, Regional VP, or VP tenure at a successful SaaS company.
  • Strong understanding of the AMER sales regions, with a network of contacts in key industries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate at all levels of an organization.
  • A demonstrated track record of success selling into the Marketing vertical.
  • Track record of building world-class sales organizations with the consistent ability to win deals.
  • Growth mindset and self-motivated, with a high level of initiative and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to make informed decisions and drive sales performance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

We are offering on-target earnings (OTE) starting at $325,000 USD (or equivalent in local currency), dependent on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
