Market Development Manager - Building Infrastructure

Job description

Biamp is seeking an Market Development Manager to serve the Eastern US Sales Region. The MDM is responsible for managing and supporting our Building Infrastructure Sales. The MDM manages sales representatives in the region and is responsible for sales to the dealer channel.

The MDM is a critical resource for dealer channel – helping them achieve their business, functional, and operational objectives.

This home-based position involves 75% travel in the Eastern US, requiring the individual to be located near a major airport in the Eastern region; preferably New York or Washington DC. Occasional travel outside of the territory may be required.

How you'll contribute:

  • Network and create connections with professionals in commercial real estate, commercial furniture dealerships, architecture and design firms, general contractors, electrical contractors, audiovisual contractors, and acoustical engineering firms.
  • Develop, build, nurture and maintain close relationships with Biamp sales teams and dealer channel.
  • Work with various stake holders in Biamp to cover all aspects of a project and ensure success.
  • Collaborate on dealer account strategies with Biamp sales team members and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Meet and exceed regional sales targets.
  • Engage in pre-sales activities including discovery meetings with current and prospective end user accounts, coordinate internal Biamp team meetings, develop go-to-market strategies, drafting implementation plans and aligning internal resources as necessary.
  • Continuously track reporting and dashboard metrics to ensure sales and implementation objectives and timelines are on track; also ensuring that obstacles and issues are identified early.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews (as required) with your team account executive teams, key stakeholders, and Biamp leadership. Drive agendas, develop and deliver content.
  • Articulate the Biamp value proposition.
  • Ensure an account engagement and collaboration plan is developed for each Sales Rep territory.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all account inquiries with a sense of urgency.

A successful candidate should have:

  • 5 years in direct sales with strong measurable sales track record in one or more of the following:
  • Sound masking
  • Paging
  • Audio visual equipment (manufacturer or dealers)
  • The following additional experience to above is a plus:
  • Office furniture manufacturers or dealers with technology focus
  • Experience in security and access control
  • Computer proficiency to produce documents in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in database/sales tool management (CRM).
  • Enthusiasm for the audio market and its new opportunities.
  • Strong business development skills with architects, acoustic consultants, general contractors.
  • Executive-level communication, planning and presentation skills.
  • Ability to create quick, strong rapport with customers.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work autonomously.
  • Attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time.

Work environment:

  • This is a remote position based in the Eastern US region.
  • Approximately 75% travel, both domestic and international.
  • At-home setting with routine use of standard office equipment.
