The Math Learning Center (MLC) is a non-profit education organization with a track record of developing high-quality mathematics materials, including Bridges in Mathematics. We create materials that engage students, promote classroom community and discourse, and help more than 80,000 elementary teachers across the country deliver effective mathematics instruction.

Are you an experienced and collaborative product marketing manager? If so, this position might be right for you. In this position, you will help articulate the value of MLC products and services to educators through well-crafted communications that align brand, strategy, and voice with competitive insights.

This position is based in Oregon. In this hybrid or onsite role, office days are in our Portland, Oregon office. Travel is a fun part of this role, with a few national trips throughout the year to support events.

What you will do:

  • Build awareness of MLC offerings and serve as a bridge between the organization and the curriculum market, providing research to help shape MLC's plans and decisions.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze competitor and market data to become a subject matter expert regarding the elementary math education market.
  • Gather and analyze information to identify target audiences and help develop marketing plans to position key products and services to meet specific objectives across different channels and segments.
  • Work with internal subject matter experts to develop profiles, positioning, and plans for key products and services. Identify and articulate messaging to differentiate products in the market.
  • Partner with the Director of Communications to develop and execute marketing collateral and other assets including video, ensuring alignment with brand, strategy, and voice.
  • Support and attend conference/trade shows where MLC has a presence, including regular travel out-of-state.

How you are qualified:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • 3 years of product management marketing experience.
  • Experience in an education organization is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel nationally up to 10% of the time to represent MLC at trade shows and conferences.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, creating, and implementing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
  • Well-developed professional skills, including problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and organization.
  • Track record of reliably delivering results by demonstrating key behavioral skills, including follow-through, initiative, timeliness, and flexibility.
