Job Summary:

Our UX/UI design internship offers a variety of hands-on experience, depending on your area of interest and experience including research, design and more. You will receive hands-on experience using your design and research skills in a professional setting while learning how to operate in an agile, team environment. Some opportunities may include:

  • UX Analyst: Customer and stakeholder facing role to review data and understand their goals and challenges to provide team recommendations based on research findings.
  • UX Architect: Creating blueprints/bones of our products during the early stages of development. Researching and creating workflows for a strong UX foundation.
  • UX/UI Designer: Broad role to understand how customers interact with our products, how the product looks and feels, and creating an intuitive interface for development.
  • Visual Designer: Creating a great look and feel for a product solution including creating aesthetically pleasing layouts, icons, components and other design assets to bring the solution together.
  • Design Technologist: Bridges the gap between the user experience and engineering teams to solve design problems through coding and prototyping. Helping the team better understand technical requirements to help save time during the development phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create new designs and editing existing documentation to meet new research standards
  • Working with customers to conduct research to take back to the team for continued product development and improvements
  • Assist in facilitating research and user testing sessions to promote evidence driven design decisions
  • Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Facilitate your product team’s vision by researching, ideating, sketching, wireframing, prototyping and high-fidelity design  for Trimble’s digital products
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Partner with senior designers to make  strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas

Recommended Skills & Experience

  • Candidates currently pursuing a degree in graphic/visual design, UX design, computer science, multimedia or related field
  • Experience in Figma, Miro, Adobe Suite, Basic HTML5, CSS3, Javascript or other related software
  • Experience with 3-D modeling and prototyping to create interactive models and illusions is a plus.
  • Ability to think critically and work independently or collaborate with a team
  • A wide degree of creativity, openness, and latitude when approaching problems

This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
