One of the largest private funders in Oregon, Meyer Memorial Trust accelerates racial, social and economic justice for the collective well-being of Oregon’s lands and peoples.
When Fred G. Meyer established what we now know as Meyer Memorial Trust in 1982, he gave the trustees “broad discretion in shaping and carrying out charitable programs… tailored to fit the changing conditions and problems.”
Meyer was a man ahead of his time. The values that guided him — to innovate, take risks, embrace diversity, adapt to changing circumstances, develop the power of the mind and contribute to economic development and parity — continue to create and inform the culture of the foundation he established, influencing what we do and how we do it.
Our commitment to racial, social, and economic justice drives a multi-layered approach to funding that meets the complexity of our times.
