Part-Time Contract Web Developer

Job description

1. Overview

Market of Choice is seeking an experienced part-timecontract web developer to support and enhance our digital presence across multipleproperties:

We are looking for a reliable, collaborative developer whovalues thoughtful design, strong performance, and clean execution — someone whounderstands that our websites represent Oregon makers, growers, and communitieswe proudly serve.

This is an ongoing contract role with flexible hours basedon project needs. Meetings at the Eugene corporate office will be required onoccasion.

2. Scope of Work

The selected contractor will support maintenance,optimization, and development initiatives across all three websites.

CoreResponsibilities

Website Maintenance & Performance

  • Ongoing updates and technical support
  • Performance optimization (speed, mobile responsiveness)
  • Bug fixes and troubleshooting
  • Plugin and CMS updates
  • Annual site review
  • Security monitoring and best practices implementation

Development & Enhancements

  • Build/update new landing pages and campaign pages
  • Support seasonal and promotional updates on main,     catering/reservation site and The Venue site.
  • Improve UX/UI functionality
  • Integrate third-party tools (forms, ordering systems, event systems,     analytics)
  • Optimize Google tag management
  • Optimize for SEO best practices

Catering Website

  • Menu updates and structural enhancements
  • Container management
  • User interface improvements
  • Ordering flow improvements
  • Order management process improvements
  • Lead capture optimization
  • Conversion tracking

The Venue Website

  • Event calendar functionality
  • Inquiry form optimization
  • Visual storytelling improvements
  • Event promotion landing pages
  • SEO optimization

Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal marketing and leadership teams
  • Provide technical recommendations and proactive improvement ideas
  • Assist with digital strategy execution when needed

3. Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years web development experience
  • Strong proficiency in WordPress & PHP primarily but experience     in HTML, CSS, JavaScript will be helpful.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (please specify which)
  • Experience with performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred

  • Experience supporting multi-location retail brands
  • Experience with food, hospitality, or e-commerce brands
  • UX/UI design sensibility
  • Conversion optimization experience
  • Accessibility (WCAG) knowledge
  • Experience integrating third-party ordering or event systems

4. EngagementDetails

  • Type: Independent Contractor (Part-Time)
  • Estimated Hours: 10–20 hours per week with     seasonal/holiday (Sept – December) needs growing to potential 40+     (flexible based on need)
  • Start Date: TBD
  • Compensation: Hourly or project-based (please     provide rate)

5. ProposalRequirements
