TITLE: Principal Cloud Engineer

LOCATION: Remote in US, working Pacific time zone and ideally in Washington or Oregon but open to other locations. Not able to hire within the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia

PAY: Target W-2 hourly pay rate for this role is $75 to $100/hr and varies depending on relevant experience and skills.

ENGAGEMENT TYPE: 6 month contract to hire with full intention and budget approval to convert to full-time employee with comprehensive benefits.


    Our client's Cloud Experience Team is looking for their Principal engineer to join a newly created internal IaaS team to help implement and enhance their enterprise technology organization's best practices and efficiencies with cloud usage, budget, efficiency and disaster recovery on top of mind. Think of a center of excellence that is available internally to all engineering teams to know which platform, tools, and apps to use and when/where to address budget constraints, efficiencies and best practices.


  • 10+ years of relevant experience that includes cloud infrastructure in Agile environments combined with a background web app development ideally using Node.js or C#.
  • AWS and Azure are both used in this environment and this role requires someone to lean in strong with AWS and an understanding of the core principles of Azure.
  • Deep understanding of Ansible, CI/CD with enterprise cloud infrastructure as a service and platform.  
  • Experience in planning for and/or supporting enterprise disaster recovery responses and planning.
  • Effective in collaborating with and partnering with enterprise wide stakeholders to understand needs, goals, and roadmap plans with a consultant, custom approach.
  • Clear and effective team player attitude as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Authorization to work in the US is a precondition of employment - we do not sponsor work visas
